1. Moisturizer

The first and crucial step after washing your skin whether the facial skin or whole body, is the application of a moisturizer. A moisturizer will help to improve your texture and skin tone. Your choice of moisturizer should be suitable for your skin type.

If you have oily skin, choose a moisturizer that’s free of oils. For those with dry skin, it is advisable to opt for a hydrating moisturizer in place of an oil free moisturizer.

2. Foundation

Your choice of a base will either augment your appearance or end up being a total fail. Finding the right foundation can be challenging as it has to match with not only your skin color but also tone. When you find the proper one, it helps make your skin tone even while giving you a complexion that is flawless.

However, if a foundation feels heavy to you, you can try using a tinted moisturizer. You can make it yourself too, by mixing your daily moisturizer with a drop or two of the foundation.

3. Concealer

The use of a concealer is not just to cover the dark under eye circles and awaken them. You can use a concealer to cover spots and scars on your face when looking for full coverage of blemishes. Choose one that is slightly lighter than your skin tone.

For blending it with the rest of the face, you can use your fingers or a makeup sponge that is dampened.

4. Eyeshadow Palette

An eyeshadow palette is a basic essential in your make up kit. If you are starting out, go for a palette of neutral colors. The dark shades of the eyeshadow should only be applied to the lower lash line and outer corner of the eye. You can also use a dark eye shadow shade as eyeliner.

It will create a soft and blurred effect.

5. Lipstick or lip gloss

You can easily play around with different finishes and looks as you experiment with varying lipstick or lip gloss colors. Try and include in your collection, a shade that is different, -e.g. a bold lip color- from the color, that you usually wear. If you want to maintain a natural and neutral look, go for a gloss.

You can also add some color using a tinted lip balm. The use of lip gloss requires less maintenance as compared to, the use of lipstick. It helps your lips look more youthful and pouty.
